Pensacola Christian College

I was a transfer from a junior college and enrolled in PCC's accounting program after visiting the campus and feeling impressed with the college's facilities and "friendly spirit".

If you are a prospective student, let me encourage you to do your due diligence on PCC. Vistit the campus, talk to students and get a feel for yourself. Don't rely on silly message boards that may or may not contain accurate information. There are numerous benefits of becoming a student there - good food (for a college), proximity to Pensacola Beach, first class facilities, low tuition, great preaching, and lots of opportunities to play sports and go on Christian service outreach. You will also make great friendships that last a lifetime. I have found there is a common bond among alumni as a result of the experience. There are also several things to consider before becoming a student. You will have to relinquish certain personal liberties and adhere to a dress code and code of conduct. At some point you will be mistreated or treated unfairly by someone in authority. This happened to me several times and it will happen to you. There are also plenty of silly rules to follow, but since everyone is playing the same game, it's really not so bad. The career placement department is also non-existant - unless you are a preacher boy or a teacher. Note to administration: Your career placement efforts for business grads needs to be stepped up. After I graduated, I got an MBA from a major state university and passed the CPA exam. I thought PCC's accounting program was fairly strong - mainly because of the quality of the faculty. My next consideration is this: Would I want my child to go there knowing what I know now. The answer is....time will tell.

Pensacola Christian College is a fantastice Christian college with high academic and moral standards. After attending several state universities, it was such an encouragement to find a college where the majority of students were interested in growing academically, socially, and spiritually. While there are rules, we understand that they are in place to provide a safe, calm environment for the student body. PCC provides excellent facilities (bowling, ice skating, basketball, tennis, swimming, etc) that can be enjoyed without having to leave campus. Both my sister and I graduated from PCC, and we look forward to a second generation of PCC graduates as our children reach college age. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
