Positive Negative Neutral Advice
To be completely objective, PCC isn't for everyone.BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
To be completely objective, PCC isn't for everyone. There are an ABUNDANCE of unwritten rules. You can get demerits if your clothes don't meet the liking of a floor leader (other peers who are paid to ensure the rules are being kept, and treated a step above the "average" students. On the possitive side, PCC is very challenging academically, and the education is high quality. The facilities are extreemly nice and clean. Some people thrive at PCC... others find it extreemely untolerable and overbearing. If you're considering it, I highly recommend visiting before you sign any applications.

Question
I had not doubts about attending Pensacola ChristianBrightBusiness - Management and Administration
I had not doubts about attending Pensacola Christian College after talking with friends who were currently attending, talking with the school's representatives that came to my highschool, and after touring the campus. Touring the campus was just icing on the cake because the campus is very beautiful. It is very conservative and strict, but I was already used to that environment. I know the strict rules and guidelines alleviated my parents concerns because they allowed us to attend PCC, which is 5,000 miles away from them. I appreciated the focus on education and moral and ethical values. I also appreciated the work programs of which I took advantage of during the semesters as well as the summer. This was very helpful for my parents since they were sending two children to college at the same time and it allowed both of us to graduate without student loan debts. I graduated with a business degree in legal office administration and a minor in management. I now work in a law office of around 40 attorneys as the contract manager for expert witness services.

Question
Overall, I had a positive experience at PCC,Computer Science
Overall, I had a positive experience at PCC, but I categorized this review as neutral because of some major shortcomings in the student life aspect of the school.

My teachers were mostly qualified to deliver a strong basic computer science foundation, but the program was too far behind the times. When I graduated in '03, the computer lab was still an old VAX/VMS system from the 70's. It should have been modern pc's running visual studio. We were required to spend two tortuous semesters learning the intricacies of COBOL, when it was an outdated platform that is rarely used anymore. I feel like my time was wasted on old technology when it could have prepared me for modern technology.

I made many friends at the school and enjoyed that aspect of student life. Unfortunately, the Dean's office and some floorleaders ruined it. There was an aura of mistrust and control that overshadowed every aspect of student life. The smallest infractions were enough to land a student in enough trouble to make it difficult to focus on studying. For example, simply touching my fiance would have been met with being "socialed". This means that I would have been forbidden from speaking with or interacting with any girls for two weeks.

It is a childish system that has no place on a college campus.
