Positive Negative Neutral Advice
PCC is a great place for future preachersComputer Science
PCC is a great place for future preachers and future preachers' wives. For a Business degree, I'd look elsewhere. I made some great friends; I'd say that's the best thing to come out of my experience at PCC

What frustrates me is that so much of the negative talk about PCC is about the rules. The bigger issue is that the college is giving Christians a bad name in the world. That saddens me.

I vividly remember Dean Cirone teaching that "a workman is worth his hire" and that when in business we should pay people what they're worth. I also remember Scott Spencer offering me a 3-year contract at $12,000/year under the average salary for that position in Pensacola. Then I remember that seeming contradictory to what I had been taught. The college administration sent me an email asking me to review the college on this site because they were concerned about the negative comments. That seems pretty unprofessional to me.

Question
The education classes at PCC are excellent.Education
The education classes at PCC are excellent. Beginning in the freshman year, students take an active part in observing, peer teaching, and making visuals that will be used for years to come. I felt very well prepared for my field, and the fact that PCC was on my resume was a huge plus when prospective schools were looking to hire teachers. So I would be able to teach any grade level, I went back to get my graduate degree from PCC in secondary education. If the school's degrees were honored by more secular universities, I would also have been able to teach at local community colleges, but that has not yet been possible.

Question
PCC is a private christian college atmosphere withEngineering Department
PCC is a private christian college atmosphere with strict standards. If you are looking for a party school where you can cut class and play video games this is not it. If you are a lazy whiner this is not it. It was very affordable, that alone is one reason you can force yourself to put up with an awful lot. The curriculum was on par with any other Engineering school and trust me you are not totatly prepared for the real world coming out of any of them. The campus was immaculate and close to the beach. The class sizes were small and the engineering instructors (who were all English speaking Americans) knew you personally. I know of only 1 person in my graduating class of about 20 engineers that was dissatisfied with the program.
