Positive Negative Neutral Advice
I graduated in 1989, and have had anQuite BrightOther
I graduated in 1989, and have had an extremely difficult time getting any accredited college or university to accept my credits. This is after contacting PCC and having them work with me. They know many people are having trouble getting accredited institutions to accept their credits, and they are being less than forthcoming regarding this. When they list X number of institutions have accepted their credits, they do not state WHEN they accepted them. Many of the institutions I contacted stated that the student who had attended did so many years ago, and it was an exception they no longer make.

Just because some of the classes are difficult does not mean it is a good education. After graduating from PCC and attending a real school, I learned that the quality of PCC's education is quite poor. They do a lot of inbreeding with their teachers, occasionally sending them away for a Masters elsewhere. However, they've been so sheltered from the "real world" that their knowledge is lacking.

I do not feel the campus is safe, either. They may have their wall and security guards, but when I was there, the security guards were a joke. They rode bikes around the campus and had no legal authority. Doors in the dormitories were never locked---in fact, they didn't even have locks.

My experience with PCC was damaging in many ways. I found the student body to be afraid and frustrated. Since they had no real control over themselves many sought control through bullying others with spying, cliques, ganging up on others, retaliation, reporting others, etc. The punishment at PCC was harsh and rarely matched the crime. An atmosphere of hostility and distrust prevailed. Though I was a student who never had more than 50 demerits, I saw so much and experienced so much that was negative that I would never recommend anyone to attend PCC. They are spirit-killers. I am embarassed to have them on my resume and am looking forward to completing another degree so I can omit PCC from my resume.
