The campus is small and compact, you can walk everywhere.It's north Florida, which is quite different from Tampa and Miami. There are changes of season and breaks from the heat.

I loved FSU. I am not so familiar with it today as I went frmo '88 to '92 (the fun years before everyone was spoiled by the football team winnings). Back then, FSU was smaller, older, sorta rundown and a whole lotta fun! Today the campus is more beautiful, better organized, more expensive and much snooter. The education you receive at FSU has always been pretty good. Socially there is a TON to do.

Talk with your professors about what kind of jobs are available with the degrees you are considering, and then talk with other professors so you can compare their advice. Often faculty with "talk up" their own field, but in the end it can be hard to find satisfying jobs (for example, poli-sci, history, sociology).
