I really like FSU's Biology program.Quite Bright
I really like FSU's Biology program. The science majors are treated to a brand new building with (mostly) state of the art equipment. Most of the grad students are very dedicated, from eclectic backgrounds, friendly and work as a team. The staff is knowledgeable. Tallahassee is dripping with Southern charm, but also is cosmopolitan and features modern shops and conveniences. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the national forest for hiking and camping. It is about an hour drive from the coast and about 2 hours to spring break town--Panama City. We also go to Disneyworld and other Orlando attractions. We love the weather--it's only hot for a couple of months and no snow to shovel in the winter months. We moved here for FSU but will probably stay as long as I can work here.

Question
Most of the students at FSU are veryQuite BrightCriminal
Most of the students at FSU are very friendly. However, being an out-of-state student (from PA), I found that a majority of the students from FL already knew at least 10 people from their high school. I felt like an outsider because many people were not really looking for new friends. As for academics, all of my gen-eds were really easy which has its benefits, but I was bored for most of the year. The classes were interesting but not at all challenging. Socially, all there is to do in Tallahassee is party. That's basically it for a social life. I chose to transfer to another school because FSU was not for me. I'm more academically focused than socially/party focused.

Question
This is a decent school and the atmosphereNot so brightPolitical Science
This is a decent school and the atmosphere is real friendly and fun. The city and university is aesthetically beautiful and we have a renowned football team. The biggest drawback about FSU is the administration. For one, you won't get much help at a 40,000 campus, besides being no more than a number. But my biggest discontentment is being a public school, it will suck the expenses out of you if you are not here living on mommy and daddy's money. Who would've guessed that even at a public school, individuals would still fall through the cracks financially. Sure you can take loans as they will tell you, but then after $80,000 to graduate, the degree at this school will be lucky to make you half of that, it's certainly no harvard or yale. I do recommend FSU however would only suggest it for 1) in-state 2) undergrad 3) on a trust fund basis.
