I am about to complete my first semesterQuite BrightLanguage - French/Spanish/etc.
I am about to complete my first semester here at Yale and I am very much enjoying it. At first, there's always an adjustment period. But the people here are great and I have already made better friends than I did in high school. Classes are challenging but not so challenging that you can't do well in them. If you come here expecting a 4.0 you will be disappointed.

Faculty have been great. They take you to their houses for dinner and discussion and out to lunch for review for exams. They truly care how well you do.

New Haven itself isn't all that great. If you're used to always participating in city life then you might be disappointed.

Food is pretty good. There's enough of a variety in food and dining halls that you should be able to find something you want. I love it and definitely recommend Yale.

I have to say- after playing the other ivies in sports & visiting- I could not be more thrilled with my college choice. I wasn't worried about the academics- once you get to a certain tier all have great faculty and strong programs- but the social life was what really drew me (& now makes me treasure) Yale. I am getting above & beyond the college experience I always dreamed of.

Yale surpassed my expectations from the first day,Quite BrightHistory/Histories (art history/etc.)
Yale surpassed my expectations from the first day, and continues to do so. Everyone has a social niche, and you practically have to strive at being anti-social to truly be unhappy, though even there you might wind up with a couple friends. The education is what you would expect (there are some very easy courses, but for the most part, each class is a challenging, personal experience), and it is very easy to get into small seminars, even as a Freshman. It may sound cliche, but at Yale, you grow as a person, and will be missing it once you go home for the summer.
