Positive Negative Neutral Advice
For starters, a lot of what people sayBrightAnimal Studies
For starters, a lot of what people say on here is true. The faculty only care about money and don't really bother with students that much. Most of the teachers are arrogant and condesending, a few are downright unarroachable. The parking lot and building is tiny. The hallways are always jampacked. The school really won't work for you with scheduling. If you get stuck with a break in between classes, you have to find ways to entertain yourself, because the school provides none. If none of these things are to your taste, then you should think about going to a different school, which is your loss because the education here makes up for it.

I feel my education here is totally worth dealing with indifferent staff and a too small campus. For the first time in my life I feel like I actually have a future. I actually really like the no-nonsense approach this school takes with you. Lower than a C is NOT acceptable, because when you get out into the real world, you'll have animal's LIVES in your hands. Why would you want someone who couldn't even manageto get a C in school? Because while it is challenging, if you study enough there is no way you can fail. And if you utilize your time wisely, you can also get lots of pratice in the hands-on classes, because the school DOES provide you with those opprotunities.

I would never give up my decision to go to this school. You pretty much have to make it your life, but I feel it was totally worth it. Just some advice: If you're going here, you should probably know it's almost impossible to hold down a job after the first few quarters. I know one person who goes to school and works and she always looks exhausted. So, either find a job on the weekends or find anothe away of supporting yourself, or find another school that fits better with your schedule because this one probably won't. When you start classes, you need to STUDY, STUDY, STUDY. There isn't a single class you can blow off, no matter how useless you think it is. Good luck!

Question
Bel-Rea is a school all about the money.Quite BrightOther
Bel-Rea is a school all about the money. They lure you in with their ads, convince you to move across the country and then blatently lie to you when you come out here. I was told that I needed probably about $4000 to move out here and get settled until I could get a job. Problem is their administration will not listen to your requests for scheduling, like asking for either all morning classes or all evening classes. So therefore you can not get a job because they schedule with classes 2 hours apart all day. Then you have to drop some classes so you can work and it ends up taking you longer to complete. Also their credits do not transfer so if you finally get wise to their game you can't stop and go elsewhere without repeating their courses. The favorites game is rediculous and if your not a favorite you better work your ass off and be smart. Or my favorite was the teacher who taught to the dumbest person. I was so irritated I was ready to pull my hair out. The teachers are snobby and arogant and most don't give you the time of day. You can tell them the correct way to say your name, but don't count on them ever remembering.

The students have a false sense of superiority when compared with other schools, but they have burned bridges with several good name vets in the area who will no longer take their interns or volunteers. They even now make you buy their scrubs which you can not wear elsewhere. It is the biggest money-grubbing school I've seen.My advice, go elsewhere, community college will charge you a fraction and give you a better experience with more hands on.

Question
I am not sorry at all that IQuite BrightAnimal Studies
I am not sorry at all that I opted to go to Bel-Rea. Sure, a few things could be improved--such as a bigger parking lot, wider hallways, less students admitted each quarter--but besides those, attending this school has been purely positive for me. I have learned more here than I have anywhere else. It isn't all memorization, either. There actually is hands-on training, although if you expect to get a daily "fur-fix," then you're coming to the wrong place--go be a kennel tech. I have nothing but good things to say about the instructors. They genuinely want to see you succeed (just don't be late to class!) I love it when the instructors tell stories from their past experiences--a lot of the time, they're very funny! Except on test days (which, admittedly, there are a LOT of tests), you can expect to laugh almost every day--even on test days sometimes! If you're the kind of person who wants to party and socialize through college, you need to find some other school to go to. It is expensive, but then, other than community colleges, what college isn't? Study hard, don't be late to classes, be sure to turn your cell phone off or on vibrate, and PAY ATTENTION, and you are sure to succeed at Bel-Rea!
