Of course you will be around people no matter what. The poeple that I ran into were snooty, extreamly competitive, close minded, rude, and could care less about making another look bad( as long as they were given props). The School is ridiculously overrated, siriously! UCLA is just a name they want you to care about, that is hyped up by prpoganda. The money is what you have and what they want. I would have been a nice expiriance if people were willing to help! I mean the competition is ridiculous!-- Trying to beat someone to the bathroom seems to be one of them, too.

There's really so much to say about ucla. The review that's several below mine, that is quite long, is in my opinion a great analysis of the university. The point of that review, if you haven't read it or don't want to, is that there are so many opportunities at UCLA, and that the school is truly what you make out of it.

I for one am not involved in a bunch of different clubs, but I am going to try to get more involved...the first step is always the hardest. However, I can trule say that UCLA is a dream. It is a wonderful place to go to school. The students are nice, caring, serious studiers yet nice and genuine people that know how to have a good time. This is a place where life-long friends can be made.

In terms of academics, the quality is in my opinion unparalleled. While some majors will have big classes, you can always balance it out by taking courses in an esoteric major that interests you, or a language class, which always has less than 20 students. I have met many of my friends through these smaller classes, and the student/teacher interaction is fantastic. Speaking of professors -- they truly care about their students. They always appreciate it when kids come into office hours and discuss the material or just shoot the breeze. make use of these office hours, b/c these are people that might wrie you a recommendation later down the line.

One of the best things about ucla is the rivalry with usc, and our unmatched sports program. We just won our 100th ncaa championship, the most out of any university! Going to watch basketball games at pauley, seeing your team go to the championships, and then sitting next to the stars of the game in your class is really special. The rivalry with usc is truly intense, especially at the big game. I saw more than one fight break out, and the single greatest moment of college thus far was seeing our team defeat the "best" football team around. There is such bruin, ucla pride emminating from our campus that you can almost feel it...I am proud to be a bruin, and hope that you guys decide to apply! good luck!

If you are a disabled student, you WILL be discriminated against by faculty and administration. No one at this university cares about the individual, only profits and how many people they can cram into one school.
