The University of California - Los Angeles

The curriculum for an English Major is just mediocre, and the faculty is very selfabsorbed. Too selfabsorbed for the poor quality of teaching and program structuring. Campus safety is another issue. As a single female, I simply do not feel safe walking around campus or Westwood at night. This campus is "hyped up" too much on propaganda. I wish that the administration would spend more time and energy on promoting quality academic programs rather than placing so much effort into false advertising and self-promotion.

2nd Year Female -- Class 2010

Social Life: B-, Faculty Accessibility: C-

The Microbiology Program is poorly structured. Class sizes are large and it is hard to make friends within your major as everyone is trying to out perform you by any means possible. It is extremely cut throat and other students will do anything in their power to make you look bad and gain the upperhand a stay ahead of the grading curve. Team Work is not in the vocabulary of the majority of students. I have also found the faculty to be relatively unapproachable and completely unhelpful.
