I actually transferred here to take some timeQuite BrightEngineering Department
I actually transferred here to take some time off from an extremely challenging and stressful school on the east coast (77 Mass. Ave in Cambridge, MA ring a bell?). Although I knew that this campus was in a great location as far as scenery (trees, wildlife) was concerned, I had no idea what incredible opprotunities Humboldt could offer to an Environmental Engineer like myself. Their program is by no means shabby, and even though they're not the best engineering school in the country, there's enough environmentalism here to knock the world off its hinges. The people who know the environmental engineering program here also know that after finish an undergraduate degree here one is competitive with Masters degrees for job placement. This campus is very active in the world at large as well as local politics, so if you want to make a change in the world right now this IS the place for you.

Question
Humboldt is a wonderful science school.Quite BrightBiology
Humboldt is a wonderful science school. There are about a billion different science majors, and the profs are accessible and great. Arcata, however, is tiny and secluded, and people are much more closed-minded than they initially let on. This is also a very weed-centric little society which is rather nauseating and stupid when one is constantly subjected to encountering chronic pot-heads on a daily basis.

Humboldt and california saved my ass from what was a routine education at a respected but dull and stifling east coast school.
